See Paso Robles with Riley Hubbard's Advice
Build your Paso itinerary with the Help of a Local
Why Paso:
“When I first moved here in 2008, my friend Maggie Tillman and I went to The Pine Street Saloon thinking we could catch a taxi ride home. When we tried to leave at 10pm, there were definitely no taxis but the bar owner’s son graciously offered us a ride in their safe ride limo!” - Riley Hubbard
HOW TO SPEND THE WEEKEND:
"Weekends are spent at the tasting room at Hubba Wines, drinking Bristol's Cider and eating Lebber's Pizza. When I get a day off I head to the beach or try to bop up to Big Sur."
Favorite NEW Hot SPOT:
"A basement music venue with a 10 ft. Steinway piano and world renowned musicians. You have to check it out!"
BEST TIME OF THE YEAR TO VISIT:
“Fall when all the action is happening.” Visiting Paso Robles in the fall is when you'll see the action of harvest, and get the warm days of summer met with cooler evenings and nights. Celebrate the seasons change at Whale Rock Music Festival in September or Harvest Wine Month in October. But every week there's new events to enjoy, from live music, to winemaker dinners, to arts festivals and more!
Good Eats
Paso Robles is bustling with award winning and unique cuisine. Find something for everyone on your next visit.
Best Breakfast:
"AMSTRDM is my go to coffee spot. And for brunch, they are very different but the Longbranch Saloon and La Cosecha are my favorites." Head over to AMSTRDM on your morning stroll downtown, where you'll see smiling faces and great coffee to go with the great atmosphere. Or head to the backroads of Paso for a unique, cowboy-style experience at the Longbranch Saloon. In town on a Sunday? La Cosecha hosts brunch every Sunday morning from 10am - 2:45pm.
Treat Yourself to Lunch and Dinner:
"So hard to choose! FINCA, Paso Robles Wine Merchant and Goshi's for lunch. The Hatch, Les Petites Canailles, and Il Cortile for dinner."
Favorite Local Event:
"I love all the farmer's markets across our county. Also Hospice du Rhône, so happy it's back!"
You can find the Farmer's Market every Saturday morning in Templeton and Tuesday morning on the north side of the Downtown square, each week dozens of local farmers man their booths, and are ready to give you a taste and a tale of their family farming philosophy. Celebrate the bounty of the Central Coast with more than just wine.
Occurring biannually, Hospice du Rhône's flagship event in Paso Robles, California gathers an international community to celebrate Rhône wines and winemakers. Attend wine tastings featuring over 120 international Rhône producers, seminars on the forefront of Rhône thinking, an exclusive live auction, delicious meals paired with Rhône wines, and above all - serious fun!
Favorite Things to do in Paso:
"I really love checking out the wildflowers on Shell Creek Road in the Spring. Bring a bottle of wine and a picnic from Di Raimondo's and you have yourself a lovely afternoon!"
Favorite Wine Experiences:
"Obviously the first place I would recommend is Hubba Wines! But there are just so many to choose from. I started my career at L'Aventure and love them and their wines always. Tasting in a cave makes the experience pretty iconic."
