Start your tour at Silva Brewing for craft brew with a legacy. Brewer Chuck Silva left the San Diego brew scene (Green Flash) to come back to his roots to open Silva. M.J. Silva, his wife, adds inspiration for the beers that are produced and seasonally released. Be sure to try the Kolsch.
Next, sidle up to the bar at Earth and Fire Brewing Company. A locals favorite, E & F embraces the nickname of “hometown brewery, and is home to award-winning beer and an endless supply of board games.
At Toro Creek Brewing Company the motto “not all hops are created equal” is taken seriously. In fact, Toro Creek decided to grow its own hops that tower around 20 feet high. Try their American style amber ale or Belgian style saison.
Recently opened, California Coast Brewing offers some exciting and quaffable beers, like the New England IPA and the Belgian Style Golden Strong. Strong Witbier.
