FREE family-friendly weekend invites the community to tour, taste, and learn with local farms, ranches, producers, and purveyors, kicking off with a Friday Night Farmers’ Marketplace in Downtown Paso Robles.

PASO ROBLES, Calif. — FARMstead ED and the SLO County Farm Trail invite locals and visitors to celebrate the 6th Annual Open Farm Days Weekend, taking place Friday, June 19 through Sunday, June 21, 2026. This free, family-friendly experience offers opportunity to explore the region’s local agriCULTURE through farm visits, tours, demonstrations, tastings, workshops, and hands-on learning throughout San Luis Obispo County.

The weekend kicks off Friday, June 19, with the Friday Night Farmers’ Marketplace from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Downtown City Park in Paso Robles. SLO County Farm Trail farmers, makers, and friends will gather to showcase locally grown and locally made products, offering the community a lively way to launch the Open Farm Days weekend. The Friday marketplace is free to attend and does not require registration.

Throughout the weekend, participating farms, ranches, producers, and purveyors will welcome registered guests along the SLO County Farm Trail. Visitors can choose their own pace and build a personalized itinerary featuring experiences such as beekeeping, olive oil production, fruit and vegetable growing, animal encounters, tastings, workshops, pop-up markets, and opportunities to meet the people behind the region’s local food and farm-made goods.  “Open Farm Days is an invitation to connect with the land, the people, and the products that make our local agricultural community so special,” said Lynette Sonne, FARMstead ED & SLO County Farm Trail Founder. “It is a chance for guests of all ages to experience where food is grown, how products are made, and why supporting local agriculture matters.”

Open Farm Days 2026 is FREE to attend. FARMstead ED is making it possible for more families, neighbors, students, visitors, and community members to experience our local farms, ranches, and artisan makers firsthand. This event is about opening gates, sharing stories, and creating access to the people and places that grow, raise, produce, and craft so much of what makes our region special.  Keeping registration complimentary helps ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn about local agriculture, understand where food and goods come from, and meet the farmers, ranchers, growers, and makers behind them. Whether someone is a lifelong local, a curious visitor, or a family introducing children to the working landscape around them, Open Farm Days invites all to connect with agriculture in a welcoming and meaningful way.

Making Open Farm Days free also makes sponsorship and community support especially important. Sponsorships and grants help cover the marketing, production, planning, and promotional resources needed to welcome guests safely and successfully. Their support allows this gathering to stay accessible while continuing to celebrate and strengthen the local agricultural community.  No Farms, No Food, No Clothing, it’s really that simple! 

Guests are asked to register in advance for weekend farm visits. Some participating farms may require separate RSVPs for specific activities, and hours and offerings may vary by location. Guests are encouraged to review the Open Farm Days map and participating farm details before planning their route.
