Hambly Lavender Farm Opens May 10 with Early Bloom, U-Pick, Sunset Evenings, and New Private Experiences

SAN MIGUEL, CA — May 6, 2026 — Lavender season is arriving a little early this year on California’s Central Coast, and Hambly Lavender Farm is ready to open its gates.

Following a wet winter and warm spring, the family-run farm is already seeing buds in the fields — an earlier-than-usual start that’s bringing fresh energy to the 2026 season, opening May 10 (Mother’s Day weekend) and running through September 7.

Located just minutes from Paso Robles wineries, Hambly Lavender Farm invites visitors to slow down, wander blooming rows, and experience the season as it unfolds.

“This year reminded us that the farm doesn’t run on a fixed schedule, ” said owner Gina Hambly. “The lavender is coming in earlier, and it feels like an invitation to enjoy the season as it happens — not just one moment, but the whole experience.”

Opening Day: A Beautiful Time to Visit

Mother’s Day weekend marks one of the most vibrant and fresh moments of the season.

Guests can:

  • Wander the lavender rows at their own pace
  • Harvest a fresh bouquet
  • Visit farm animals (including new piglets and chickens)
  • Explore the seasonal farm store

Opening weekend will also include small, thoughtful touches for early visitors, including local collaborations and seasonal treats — such as lavender lemonade and small-batch Leo Leolavender honey gelato served fresh from the farm store.

Lavender U-Pick (Signature Farm Experience)

The heart of the farm is its relaxed, self-guided U-Pick experience.

Lavender U-Pick

  • May 10 – September 7
  • Friday–Sunday | 10 AM – 5 PM
  • $20 per person (children under 10 free)

Each guest harvests a lavender bundle to take home while enjoying open space, fresh air, and a slower pace.

A Season Designed to Be Experienced Over Time

Rather than focusing on a single peak event, Hambly Lavender Farm is leaning into a longer, more flexible season — giving visitors more opportunities to experience the fields at different stages of bloom, from early buds to peak color and late-season softness.

Sunset on the Farm Returns

As summer days stretch warm across the Central Coast, Saturday evenings offer a cooler, golden-hour experience in the fields.

Guests are invited to wander, bring a picnic, and enjoy wine tastings from rotating Paso Robles winery partners — including Eberle Winery, Austin Hope Wines, and Hoyt Family Vineyards — as lavender fields glow in soft evening light.

Sunset on the Farm

  • Select Saturdays | 6:30 – 9:00 PM
  • $30 per person

These limited-capacity evenings are among the farm’s most sought-after experiences and tend to fill quickly.

New for 2026: Private Group Experiences

For visitors planning celebrations or wine country weekends, Hambly Lavender Farm is introducing private group experiences designed for connection and memorable gatherings.

Ideal for:

  • Bachelorette parties
  • Birthdays
  • Girls’ weekends
  • Small retreats

Groups can enjoy lavender harvesting, reserved seating, and optional curated picnic or hosted experiences.

Private bookings are available for groups of 10–25 guests with advance reservations.

Workshops and Local Collaborations

Throughout the season, Hambly Lavender Farm partners with Central Coast makers to offer small, hands-on workshops and a rotating selection of locally made goods in the farm store.

Guests can expect collaborations with:

  • Sugar + Spoon (lavender honey caramels)
  • Root Elixirs (sparkling cocktail & mocktail mixers)
  • Rinn’s Pantry (culinary lavender blends)
  • Sierra Honey Farm (local lavender honey)
  • Leo Leo Gelato (honey lavender gelato)

Seasonal workshops — including charcuterie, painting, wine blending, and lavender distillation — are intentionally small and often sell out in advance.
