COVID-19 Updates and Travel Guide

California's Regional Stay At Home Order

In the December 3 address, Governor Newsom announced the new Regional Stay At Home Order which divides California into five regions. When one of these region's ICU falls below 15% capacity, the region is required to instate the Regional Stay At Home Order.

San Luis Obispo County is included in the Southern California region along with Imperial, Inyo, Los Angeles, Mono, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. While the ICU bed availability in San Luis Obispo County remains high, the Southern California region triggered the 15% ICU capacity measurement and the Regional Stay At Home Order went into effect on Sunday, December 6 at 11:59pm.

Once triggered, these orders will remain in effect for at least 3 weeks. After that period, they will be lifted when a region’s projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15%. This will be assessed on a weekly basis after the initial 3 week period. As of December 28, 2020 the Regional Stay At Home Order has been extended indefinitely.

La Cosecha Spirits

We may be known for wine, but Paso is also home to cutting-edge craft breweries, cideries and distilleries. The spirit of Paso comes together as an affiliation of farmers, winemakers, brewers, bartenders, chemists and enthusiasts who take tremendous pride in creating quality, handcrafted products. It’s more than wine, it’s the art of the blend, the creation of new products and the passion of the makers who call Paso home.

Paso’s dozen-plus craft distilleries are still slinging spirits (and hand sanitizer to keep the community safe). To see the various specials and to order a curbside pick up of your favorite local potent potable, check out the Paso Robles Distillery Trail.

The show must go on. While large gatherings are still on hold, Paso Robles’s cultural institutions continue delivering innovative and fun ways to enrich our lives, including virtual art classes at Studios on the Park.

Internationally-acclaimed artist Bruce Munro’s Field of Light at Sensorio is temporarily closed. The array of more than 58,000 stemmed spheres lit by fiber-optics, gently illuminating the 15-acre landscape is scheduled to be open through Spring 2021. When Sensorio re-opens, book your tickets in advance. With new physical distancing rules, Sensorio has time ticket entry, a one-way path to experience the exhibition, limited group size, mask coverings and other safety measures to welcome you back.
