Anchored by its world-class wine, luxury hotels, dining scene and small-town charm, the magazine says Paso Robles is one of the most exciting wine regions in California.

May 22, 2019 (Paso Robles. Calif.) – Travel Paso and The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance are proud to announce Paso Robles was called a must-visit wine region by Wine Spectator in its latest issue

Calling it one of the most exciting wine regions in California, the 11-page feature story in the June 30 issue says Paso’s “great wine, delicious food, luxury digs and small-town charm” are what make it so attractive as a destination.

The story explores how Paso has arrived as a destination, and is “no longer in the middle of wine’s nowhere,” noting it sees more than a million visitors a year. It also celebrates its longstanding cowboy culture, calling it the fuel for Paso’s easy-going charm and its innovative wine scene.

“The vibe around Paso blends cowboy roots with modern sensibilities,” the article says.

The story also highlights where visitors should eat, stay and sip wine, citing eight top-tiered restaurants, three hotels and 13 wineries, from Alta Colina to Villa Creek.

“We’ve known for a long while how special Paso is, but to have one of the world’s foremost wine magazine declare our region one of the most exciting in California is thrilling, and a boon for the community,” says Joel Peterson, Executive Director of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance.

Danna Stroud, Executive Director of Travel Paso agrees.

“Paso Robles has been undergoing a renaissance over the last 20 years. Luxury hotels, fine dining and a spirit of collaboration, now complement our world-class wine community as we continue to grow our tourism economy. As the article mentions, we’re a premier destination, yet our small-town charm continues to shine bright,” says Stroud.
