It is with great excitement that we announce that Comfort American Kitchen, located at the River Oaks Golf Course, is reopening for their lunch and dinner service as of Thursday, April 8th 2021. 

Comfort American Kitchen temporarily closed its doors to the public in December of 2020, due to the pandemic that affected so many local businesses. “We knew we wanted to reopen our doors as soon as it was safe and financially viable for us to do so again and here we are! We are really excited to get the public back in and experience our new menu we’ve been working on over the last few months,” says owner, Eric Peterson.

Peterson opened Comfort American Kitchen back at the start of the pandemic, March 2020. “I’ll admit, it wasn’t the best timing to open a new restaurant but we had already put in months of prepping and planning, before Covid19 was even on our radar, so we took a huge leap of faith and carried on with our grand opening plans. We were confident this idea of offering quality comfort foods, like our signature fried chicken, paired with local beers and wines to the community of River Oaks and Paso Robles at large, was going to be a success.” And a success it was, even with the takeout only ordinance for restaurants. Peterson said it was a tough few months until they were able to open for outdoor dining in June. “We had a few great months seating our customers outdoors on our patio, overlooking the golf course. People loved it.” That is until the second closure of restaurants began. “We took a hit for sure, like all Paso restaurants did, but my focus was on Street Side Ale House and keeping my other existing restaurants alive.” Peterson owns 6 local restaurants here in north county, including Street Side Ale Houses, Guest House Grill, Jack’s Templeton Grill, Country Touch and Touch of Paso. Comfort American Kitchen is his 7th.

With Comfort’s second Grand Opening being just last week, Peterson invites the community back to visit Comfort American Kitchen, sit at the beautiful bar and dining room inside or the patio overlooking the greens, relax and enjoy a unique meal. Hours are Wed-Sun, 11am-8:30pm. Closed Mon-Tues.
