In celebration of Women’s History Month, EnjoySLO brings together more than 20 San Luis Obispo County women-owned eateries with the launch of “At Her Table”-- a 7-day county-wide event featuring special menu items, virtual classes, and discussions that encourage open conversation about the stories of local female industry leaders. It will take place from Monday, March 8thth to Sunday, March 14th.

The idea came to life during a conversation between Michelle Barrera of EnjoySLO and Dina Samson of Rossoblu in Los Angeles who had recently launched a similar project with a group of women called, Re:Her.

“When I talked to Dina she really inspired me. I knew a similar movement should be created here. The impact that Re:Her had on the Los Angeles community was astounding. The women felt so proud to participate and it gave them another outlet for their voices to be heard.”

The following day Michelle began reaching out to local women-owned eateries to invite them to inspire and empower the community with their passion for food and their voices -- the response was extremely positive and the idea took off. “There was an overwhelming sense of ‘Yes!’ amongst the women. You could feel it,” says Kristin Casillas, Co-Owner of Orale Taqueria and participant in the event.

The group quickly grew to over 20 businesses participating throughout the county. Female owned restaurants are offering unique menu items throughout the week like the Glass Ceiling cocktail brought to you by Kimberly Walker at Granada Hotel & Bistro where guests are encouraged to break the 'glass ceiling' with a small hammer and dilute a rock candy into their glass full of bubbles. You’ll also be able to enjoy Debbie Thomas's favorite dish at Thomas Hill Organics in Paso Robles. They will be offering a bone marrow-crusted rib-eye paired with Vailia From’s Desperada Borderlands wine. Beyond just food offerings, a series of virtual events are also being held throughout the week where participants will be gathering in passionate discussions about food, family, and business.

Businesses will receive 100% of the sales, and the community is encouraged to donate to RiseSLO. To learn more about At Her Table and see the full event calendar and food guide, visit www.AtHerTable.com or follow @athertableSLO on Instagram.
