Basic Fermentation Workshop
This workshop will take you through a few popular methods of fermentation and give you the knowledge to "save the season" through fermentation. Winter is commonly thought of as a time when there isn't enough produce or product for canning or preservation. Winter is a great time to make pickles and other ferments such as kraut, kombucha, and even kimchee, for use year 'round.
In this workshop we will provide examples of various ferments for tasting and a hands-on experience of making a ferment. We will provide seasonal ingredients (from the farm) as well as everything needed to make a ferment in the style of kimchee . Everyone will take home a jar of their own. We will walk through different styles of pickles and ferments, kitchen staples, necessary equipment and resources.
We will be tasting items we have made and will provide a light snack to go along with it.
Bring an adventurous spirit, we will take care of the rest
The farmstand is an outdoor space and we anticipate that it will be a beautiful day. In the event that it is raining heavily, we may cancel. In this instance you will receive a full refund.
