Stop and Smell the Lavender in Paso Robles

As the summer sunshine filters through the majestic oaks in Paso’s Downtown City Park, hundreds of families will gather to enjoy the seventh annual Central Coast Lavender Festival. This free event – occurring from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 11 – is a great way to enjoy a day in the beautiful outdoors.

Following the opening ceremonies at the gazebo, guests will have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of lavender-related festivities. Producers, growers and farmers throughout the central coast will be in attendance, serving free samples of lavender-infused cuisine and products. Be sure to try the lavender oils, ice cream and dipping sauces as you wander through the Lavender Tasting Garden.

Throughout the day, you can attend a variety of free seminars at the gazebo. Discussing everything from distilling lavender to the many benefits of using lavender, these educational talks will fascinate guests of all ages. The festival is also a great place to bring your kids! In addition to food vendors and live music, the event features a special children’s area with fun activities and face painting.

Many of Paso’s talented artists find their inspiration from the region’s vast orchards and beautiful farms. In recognition of this, the festival will include an informal juried art show where individuals can enjoy the work of local artists.

Before you leave, don’t forget to pick up a restaurant guide from “The Honey Bee!” Paso Robles Downtown City Park is located within walking distance from a wealth of hotels and delicious restaurants, and this guide will make it easy to plan the rest of your weekend getaway.

This fun, lavender-filled day is in part sponsored by the Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association and the Central Coast Lavender Growers Association. For more information about visiting Paso Robles and attending the Central Coast Lavender Festival, visit
