Partake in Flight, Food and Fun at the 2017 Paso AirFest!
Have you ever had a chance to discover the wonders of classic airplanes up close? Take the opportunity explore vintage aircrafts and meet the pilots for each plane at the 2017 Paso Robles AirFest on August 25-26, at the Paso Robles Municipal Airport! This two-day event will feature aircraft displays, activities, and entertainment for the entire family and aircraft aficionados of all ages.
Party with the planes on Friday, August 25, as AirFest kicks off with live music, food, wine and Firestone Walker beer from 6-10 pm. This airport celebration will be joined by The Martin Paris Band; their wine country-inspired acoustic music will blend perfectly with this Winemaker’s Bash! Tickets for this portion of AirFest are $25 and available at the Paso Robles AirFest website and the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce.
Bright and early the next morning, be prepared to be in awe of the unique variety of planes, jets, and automobiles on display at the AirFest Fly In! On Saturday, August 26, the AirFest gates will open from 9am-4pm for the Airport Appreciation Day celebration. Don’t miss the parachute delivery of the American flag at noon, joined by the Paso Robles Marching Band performing the National Anthem and a speech from Mayor Steve Martin to kick-off the opening of Paso Robles AirFest.
This Fly In will showcase aircraft displays that include military and private planes from restored antiques to modern jets, racers, remote-control models, and more. Don’t miss your chance to visit with the vintage Warbirds and their pilots during this exclusive display of classic and modern aircrafts. A full radio-controlled aerial demonstration will be given by the famous Cloud Clippers! Bring the whole family and enjoy a BBQ lunch and the Kid Zone while watching this engaging display.
This year, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Young Eagles Program will take flight and provide free rides for children between the ages of 8 and 17! Dave Fretwell, a volunteer pilot and a member of the EAA Chapter 465 of Paso Robles, will introduce the next generation to the thrills and excitement of aviation from 9am to 3pm. The Young Eagles program have flown over 2 million kids all over the nation and are proud to promote their mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation.
