Celebrate in Paso: Rustic Wedding Venues and more!

IMG_9454Paso Robles has many properties with barns available for your special event.  Ranging from one to 100 years old, barns can offer history and quaintness.  Thacher Winery boasts a historic barn that is 90 years old, nestled amongst hills, oaks and vineyards.  Hammersky Vineyards has a beautiful restored farmhouse, perfect for a bride and groom to begin their honeymoon in Paso Robles, or to be used as a beautiful backdrop for a wedding or anniversary celebration.

Extremely old barns that look like they could fall over at any moment are a popular choice.  You know, paint peeling, light coming through the slats, everything rusty… many couples love that.  Then there are the couples that love the bright, brand new or remodeled farmhouses.  Crisp with their white paint and happy shutters, farmhouses give the feeling of being married at home in your backyard.

IMG_9868 Barns can also offer an inside facility in a town where outdoor is king.  95 percent of my couples want to take advantage of Paso Robles’ beautiful weather and scenery.  A barn gives you an inside facility with an outdoor feeling.  Some barns even have a wall removed bringing the outside in.

A barn can offer a wide range of budget options for couples as well.  I have done over the top weddings in rural barns where no expense is spared.  At the same time a barn is the perfect place for a couple with a ‘creative budget.’   You can do amazing things with fruit, hay, mason jars, and even barbed wire.  You heard me.  I LOVE mixing elements when planning a wedding.  A barbed wire wreath with a few beautiful flowers bunched in it can be an awesome focal point for the outside of a barn.  Vintage mason jars with wildflowers bunched together in different sizes make a beautiful and cost effective centerpiece.  Mismatching silverware, crystal and china bought at second hand stores can add a bit of whimsy to your table.

IMG_9442 Whatever the budget or taste, Paso Robles is the ideal destination for a rustic, barn wedding.  Stay tuned for next month's Celebrate in Paso blog, when I talk about outdoor, vineyard weddings in Paso Robles!

Hi - I just ran across this post and even though I'm a Paso Robles native, I had no idea people were using barns for events. Do you know if any of the barns you mentioned do events other than weddings? Cheryl www.prhsclassof1986.com

Absolutely! Barns are a great place for birthday parties, reunions, anniversary parties, engagement parties and rehearsal dinners. Make sure to check with the venue about their rules regarding alcohol and amplified music.

First thing that could get the attraction of the costumer is the uniqueness on ones idea. And your idea got the unique one and for sure costumers cannot refused to go at Paso Roble. The venues are not for wedding celebration only but for all celebrations that could give a big impact to the costumers. The surrounding, the foods, the backyard, the garden are all beautiful in viewers ' eye. Thank you for sharing this one with us. I like it so much./
