Corndogs, concerts and rides, oh my! Good ol’ family fun comes to Paso Robles July 16 to July 27 at the California Mid-State Fair (CMSF) at the Paso Robles Event Center! If you’re two years old or 102 years old, you won’t want to miss the animals, food and drink, art displays and fun and exciting entertainment.
It’s a mutton bustin’ good time at the SMSF!
Come enjoy the animals at the fair; see stunning horses at the equestrian shows; get up close with cows, rabbits, sheep and more at the livestock shows; watch a cattle drive or watch some mutton bustin’. Children six years old and younger that weigh less than 60 pounds can try their hand at mutton bustin’; where they will try to ride a sheep for a full six seconds. Every mutton bustin’ child gets to take home temporary tattoos and a participation ribbon; they won’t want to miss it!
And the winner is…
Come hungry and taste, chew, bite, and sip with tons of fun and delicious food and drink options. Your taste buds will go crazy with all of the delicious snacks. On July 22 at the Frontier Pavilion, find out who makes the best apple pie around! The Sands Inn & Suites will present the 8th annual apple pie baking contest at the California Mid-State Fair. Do you think you have what it takes to win? It’s free to enter so bring your apple pie to the main administration building at the fair any time before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 to enter; there are lots of fun prizes for the winners!
Other food and beverage events include: home brewing, winemaking and olive oil competitions from noon to midnight, July 16 to 27. Leave the kids at home and check out Winemaker Nights where you can experience delicious locally made wines at the Marketplace, you won’t be disappointed.
On Thursday, July 24 at 7:30 a.m. head to Downtown City Park and get your grub on with a pancake breakfast until 10:30 a.m. The annual CMSF pancake breakfast is prepared by members of the grange. To get FREE tickets to the pancake breakfast visit downtown Main Street merchants the week before the event and get your grub on with friends and family.
Enjoy the arts at the CMSF; and feel inspired as you stroll through the many galleries and displays. From fine arts to home arts, industrial crafts to produce and flowers, Paso has quite the art scene, check out talented artists and exhibits and experience the talent that lives in the greater Paso Robles area.
Demi Lovato will be rocking the stage!
Big stars and stars in the making come to shine at the CMSF! Check out amazing shows with incredible performances by superstars including: Demi Lovato, Kid Rock, The Doobie Brothers, Lady Antebellum, Train with The Wallflowers, Journey & Steve Miller, the Zac Brown Band and more! There will also be local bands showing off their sound and live shows by local performers. The Country Rodeo finals take place July 26 and the biggest and baddest monster trucks rev up on July 27. Watch Paso’s finest young women live out their dreams and represent the area at the 2014 Miss California Mid-State Fair pageant; it will be held on Tuesday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m. For information on tickets for any of the events and performances click here.
Everyone loves carnival rides!
What’s a fair without carnival rides? On July 16 through the 27 from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m., ride the Ferris wheel and your other favorite rides. Make it an adventurous date or a perfect family outing. Get your carnival ride wristbands in advance from the California Mid-State Fair Box Office now through July 15 at 5 p.m. and enjoy a discount of up to $7 per day!
